5th Monitor Meeting of Life Biomass C+

Last Friday 6th of May, the 5th Monitor Meeting of the LIFE Biomass C+ project was held in the CARTIF’s facilities of Valladolid, after almost three years without having an in-person meeting due to COVID.

Biomass C+ partners and the project monitor were able to discuss the progress and the final steps of their work. Each partners gave an update to the participants on the actions and results that they’ve carried out during these years, to help understand the viability of the use of Thypha dominguensis in floating filters to obtain biofuels.

All the agricultural actions have finished, and the partners are now working on the transformation of the rhizomes and roots into biofuel.

As part of the day program, a visit to the prototype of the fermenter was scheduled.  CARTIF partners explained how this machine works and how it will contribute to the project. The participants were really excited to see the project continues during the summer and to discover how our biofuel will turn out.
